Raven 2: Walthan Region Update Guide – What’s New and How to Prepare
Mar-23-2026 PSTThe March update for Raven 2 brings a substantial new region, a fresh growth system, and quality-of-life improvements that will affect players across all progression levels. Whether you’re a veteran clearing end-game content or a free-to-play player looking to buy Raven 2 Crystal to accelerate your gear progression, this guide will walk you through everything added in this patch and how to prepare for what’s coming.
Part 1: The New Region – Walthan
Overview
Walthan is a brand-new region being added to Raven 2, continuing the main story through Chapters 33 to 36. The storyline, titled “March of the Special Corps,” revolves around a rescue mission for Prince William—though if you’ve been skipping cutscenes like many players, you can simply enjoy the new content without worrying about the narrative details.
Key details:
Entry level: Starts at level 83
Content: 14 hunting grounds spread across 4 sub-regions
Progression: Higher experience gains compared to Lung Guard
New collections: Additional item collection entries to complete
Who Can Access Walthan
This region is designed for end-game players. If you’re still working through Lung Guard (roughly Chapters 27–28), Walthan will remain out of reach for some time. The level 83 requirement means you’ll need to be well into the end-game grind before setting foot in these new hunting grounds.
For players not yet at Walthan: Don’t rush. Use this time to complete your existing collections, upgrade your gear, and work through Lung Guard. The region isn’t going anywhere, and arriving under-geared will only lead to frustration.
What Walthan Offers
Higher Experience Yield
Compared to Lung Guard, Walthan’s hunting grounds provide significantly more experience per hour. For players who have been stuck in the mid-80s level range, this region offers a meaningful acceleration in progression.
New Item Collections
Like previous regions, Walthan introduces new item collection entries. These collections provide permanent stat bonuses—valuable for any player looking to push their character’s power further. Be prepared for the collection grind, as drop rates can be unforgiving.
Field Bosses
Walthan introduces new field bosses that operate similarly to existing ones like Lady of Desire and Beast King Gardon. The first announced boss is Vargas, the Burning Hatred, which sits at the same tier as existing field bosses.
Important restrictions:
Cannot be accessed using Bless Scroll of Passage
Memory locations cannot be set within a certain surrounding area
Requires manual travel and coordination
Rewards from Vargas:
Defeating Vargas grants various rewards, including new heroic-grade Heaven Stones. The first confirmed Heaven Stone is Giant Smash, a melee-focused stone that charges towards enemies and breaks up formations.
Part 2: New Growth System – Weapon Resonance
What Is Weapon Resonance?
Weapon Resonance is a new progression system that adds additional power to your character through summoning and collection mechanics. Think of it as another layer of character customization that runs parallel to your existing gear and skill builds.
How to Acquire Weapon Resonance
Resonance items can be obtained through multiple methods:
Summoning — Available through various summoning tabs
Coins of Chaos exchange — A reliable method for targeted acquisition
Shop purchase — Direct purchase options
Gold summon — Standard summoning using gold
Important: Weapon Resonance will not be added to the normal crystal summoning tab. Focus your efforts on the channels listed above.
Cross-Class Acquisition
You can acquire resonance items for both your own class and other classes. While this might seem frustrating—especially if you’re chasing specific drops—it means you can stockpile resonance items for alts or future class swaps.
Equipping Resonance
Only resonance items matching your current class can be equipped. Items for other classes cannot be used but can be stored for later.
Resonance Effects
Resonance items come in various grades and provide different types of effects:
Triggered Skills — Most resonance effects are active skills that trigger under specific conditions during combat.
Passive Effects — Some resonance items provide constant passive bonuses without requiring activation.
Hybrid Forms — A mix of both active and passive effects exists for certain resonance grades.
Resonance Collection
Beyond equipping individual resonance items, there is a collection system that provides additional bonuses. Similar to item collections, acquiring and registering specific resonance items grants permanent stat increases across three categories:
Offensive types — Damage, critical stats, attack power
Defensive types — Damage reduction, defense, health
Other types — Utility stats like mana cost decrease
Standout stat: Mana cost decrease is available through this system—a valuable bonus for mana-hungry classes like Gunslinger and Elementalist.
Part 3: Quality of Life Improvements
Tower of Chaos Improvements
Clear-Out Buff Selection
Previously, you were locked into whatever buffs you received after a clear-out. Now, buffs can be reselected, giving you more control over your Tower progression. This is particularly valuable for pushing higher floors where optimal buff combinations make a significant difference.
Quick Slot Information Pop-up
You can now check information for registered items and skills by:
Right-clicking on PC
Pressing and holding on mobile
This feature displays detailed information about what each skill or item does without needing to navigate away from your current screen.
Field Boss Information
Beastiary Codex Updates
Upcoming field boss information is now displayed in the Beastiary Codex. This allows you to prepare for field boss encounters by learning about their mechanics, spawn locations, and rewards before engaging.
Player Wishlist: Boss Health Bars
While not implemented in this update, many players have expressed interest in seeing boss health bars after obtaining certain drops (like Morgan’s Tooth from Kingdom Dungeon bosses). This would function similarly to how item collection unlocks certain information. For now, this remains a community suggestion rather than a confirmed feature.
Part 4: Update Celebration Events
Hunting Buffs
During the update celebration period, the following buffs are active:
Accuracy — Reduces misses against higher-level content
Damage — Increased damage output
XP — Faster experience gain
Gold — Increased gold drops
Damage Reduction — Improved survivability
These buffs are valuable for both players pushing into Walthan and those still catching up through earlier content.
Login Rewards
Countdown Login Rewards
A login event running through March provides various rewards including:
Glory chests
Special material selection chests
Monster Hunter coins
Summoning materials
March 24th Rewards
Additional rewards are scheduled for March 24th. Players should ensure they log in on this date to claim these items.
What’s Not in This Update
Based on the developer notes, certain features are not yet implemented:
No new passes available at launch
No immediate event content beyond login rewards
Some features may activate on March 24th rather than immediately
Part 5: Preparing for Walthan
For Players Approaching Level 83
If you’re nearing the Walthan entry requirement, start preparing now:
Complete Lung Guard Collections
Finish any outstanding collections in Lung Guard before moving on. These permanent stat bonuses will make your Walthan experience smoother.
Stock Enhancement Stones
The collection grind in new regions can consume enhancement stones rapidly. Build a reserve before you start.
Check Your Accuracy
Walthan enemies will be higher level than you’ve faced before. If your accuracy is lacking, you’ll experience frustrating miss rates. Consider using the celebration accuracy buff to help during initial farming.
For Players Still Progressing
If Walthan is far away (like Chapter 27–28 range), don’t feel pressured:
Focus on Current Content
Complete Lung Guard at your own pace. Rushing to Walthan under-geared will only create bottlenecks.
Participate in Events
Take advantage of the celebration buffs—they’ll help you clear your current content faster.
Build Resources
Use this time to stockpile gold, enhancement stones, and summoning materials. When you eventually reach Walthan, you’ll be ready.
